Investar Bank Welcomes Another New Commercial Lender

Baton Rouge, La. – Investar Bank recently hired Chad Cornett as a Commercial Lender and Senior Vice President in the Greater Baton Rouge market. Cornett has 12 years’ professional experience and has spent the past five years in the banking industry. He joins Investar from Regions Bank where he served as Vice President of Commercial Banking.
As a Commercial Lender, Cornett is responsible for growing and maintaining a commercial loan and deposit portfolio by providing the highest level of customer service. He delivers strategic advice, capital strategy and risk management solutions to corporate and commercial clients.

Cornett is actively involved in the Baton Rouge community. He helped found The Mentorship Academy in Downtown Baton Rouge and still participates as Past Board Chairman. He currently serves as a Director on the following Boards: Baton Rouge Film Commission, Baton Rouge River Park Commission, Options Inc. and is an Advisory Board member with the Louisiana Lighthouse. He was one of the youngest recipients of the Baton Rouge Business Report’s Top 40 Under 40 and a recent Boy and Girls Club Great Futures Honoree.
Cornett received a B.S. degree in Business with a specialty in Finance and a Master’s of Science in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi. He recently graduated from LSU’s Graduate School of Banking.
